JESUP - Funeral services for Bernard Howard Brennan will be 10:30 am. Wednesday, Dec. 17, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Gilbertville, with burial in Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery, Waterloo.
Friends may call anytime after 2 p.m. Tuesday, at the White Funeral Home in Jesup, where there will be a vigil service at 4 p.m. and a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus rosary at 7:30p.m.
Mr. Brennan, 78, died Saturday, Dec. 13, 1997, at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo, of natural causes.
He was bom Aug. 29, 1919, at Elma, the son of Eugene Francis and Henrietta Jane (Myers) Brennan. He graduated from East High School, Waterloo, in 1937 and farmed near Fairbank until 1946. He then worked a short time at John Deere in Waterloo, before starting at Rath Packing in 1948. He retired from Rath in 1978. On Oct. 7, 1967, he married Catherine Mary Mayo at St. John's Catholic Church in Waterloo. She preceded him in death in 1986. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council 8227 of Jesup, and Hennessay Assembly of the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, Waterloo.
Survivors include three sons, Kenneth and Vernon Brennan, both of De Funiak Springs, Fla., and Wade Brennan of Fairbank; two brothers, Eugene of Homosassa Springs, Fla, and Robert of Floral City, Fla.; five sisters, Isabel Gansen of Elma, Marie Masterson and Jeanette Lentz, both of Waterloo, Ruth Piegors of Dewar, and Rosemary Bogge of Independence.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Catherine; two sisters, Elizabeth and Katherine; and two brothers, Joseph and William.
Memorials may be made to Immaculate Conception Church, Gilbertville, and St. Athanasius Church, Jesup.
