JESUP - Funeral services for Sadie (Plank). Klever of Kensington Cottages, Waterloo, and formerly of Jesup, were held Thursday, July 24, at the First Presbyterian Church, Jesup, with the Rev. Kenneth E. Campbell officiating. Burial was in Cedar Crest Cemetery, Jesup. The White Funeral Home, Jesup, was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Klever, 94, died at her home Monday, July 21,1997, of cancer. She was born March 6, 1903, in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth (Agnew) McCormick. She graduated from Independence High School. On Sept. 4, 1920, she married Louis Harold Plank in Buchanan County. The couple farmed near Quasqueton until 1936, when they moved to a farm near Jesup. They moved to town in 1944. He preceded her in death in September 1974. She married Arthur Klever on Nov. 9, 1981, in Independence. He preceded her in September of 1988. Mrs. Klever was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Jesup and had been a member of the Order of Eastern Star for many years. She enjoyed traveling and spent many winters in Arizona.
Survivors include one son, Harold "Thomas" Plank of Lebanon, Ore., one daughter Lila C. Peery of Phoenix, Ariz.; 7 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-greatgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her two husbands; one daughter, Nina Hartless; one brother, Edward McCormick; one sister, Isabel Catt; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
