JESUP - Funeral services for Dolores M. Beierschmitt will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, at St. Athanasius Catholic Church, Jesup, with burial in the church cemetery. The White Funeral Home, Jesup, was in charge of arrangements, where a CDA rosary and a vigil service were held on Friday.
Mrs. Beierschmitt, 77, died at her home early Wednesday, Oct.15, 1997, following a lengthy illness.
She was born Sept. 2, 1920, in Jesup, the daughter of Math and Katherine (Fischels) Trierweiler. She graduated from Jesup High School in 1937 and later form Mt. Mercy College in Cedar Rapids. On Feb. 12, 1941, she married Neil Patrick Beierschmitt at St. Athanasius Catholic Church. The couple lived on a farm near Jesup until 1978, when they moved into town, retiring from farming in 1984. Mrs. Beierschmitt worked as a professional secretary for many years, first at Don Bosco High School in Gilbertville, later in Waterloo for the Electrical Union, then retiring from the Allen Memorial Hospital purchasing department in 1984. She was a member of St. Athanasius Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court of St. Pius X #1714 of Jesup.
Survivors include two sons, John M. and Patrick N., both of Jesup; a foster daughter; Betty J. Doetkott of Coon Rapids, Minn.; 11 grandchildren; and one sister, Vivian LeGoube of Burbank, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Neil, in 1994; one sister, Lucille Taylor; and one brother, Eugene Trierweiler.
Memorials in her name will be directed to various educational institutions.
