Lawrence F. "Larry" Miner
INDEPENDENCE -- Lawrence F. "Larry" Miner, 73, of Rice Lake, Wis., and formerly of Independence, died Sunday, March 4, 2007, at Lakeview Medical Center, Rice Lake, following a short illness.
Funeral services: 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 9, at St. John's Catholic Church, Independence. Burial will follow at St. John's Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may call after 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the White Funeral Home, Independence, where there will be a parish rosary at 3 p.m., a military service at 7 p.m. and a vigil service at 8 p.m. Thursday.
He was born Sept. 6, 1933, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Harold Leo and Lucille Margaret (Howe) Miner. He served two years in the Army as a helicopter mechanic. On Aug. 29, 1953, he married Eleanor Louise Morris at Cedar Rapids. Larry worked as an over the road truck driver for many years retiring in 1995. He also managed the BuffaIo Creek Golf Course in Winthrop for seven years.
Survivors: his wife, Eleanor of Rice Lake; two sons, Larry P. (Marybeth) Miner of Mankato, Minn., Mike H. Miner of Conway, Mo.; three daughters, JoAnn M. (Glenn) Hile, of Shell Lake, Wis., Mary Margaret Miner (Gary Stenseth) of Rice Lake, Patricia E. (Jesse) Hayden of Shell Lake, Wis.; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
