Lyle A. Piazzon
INDEPENDENCE - Funeral services for Lyle A.Piazzon will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6, at St John's Catholic Church, Independence, with the Rev. Al Vorwald officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call after 7 p.m. Monday and anytime Tuesday at the White Funeral Home, Independence, where there will be a parish rosary at 3 p.m. and a vigil service at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Mr. Piazzon, 47, died Sunday, Aug. 3, 1997, at Peoples Memorial Hospital, Independence, following a short illness.
He was born Dec. 5, 1949, in Burlington, the son of Louis and Sally Koenigs Piazzon. He graduated from St. John's High School in 1968 and attended Hawkeye Institute of Technology in Waterloo. On Nov. 29, 1969, he married Barbara Jo Allen in Independence. Mr.Piazzon was a machine operator for John Deere Co. in Waterloo. He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, and the U.A.W. Local 838. He also enjoyed motorcycling.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara; two daughters, Tanya (Steve) Hicock of Jefferson City, Mo., and Nicole Piazzon of Marion, three grandchildren; his parents, Sally and Louis Piazzon of Independence; and four sisters, Sandra Hamblin of Lakewood, Calif., Theresa Smith of Barrington, Ill., Mary Segriff of Cedar Rapids, and Annette Anderson of Hudson, N.H.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
