Richard L. Knapp
AURORA (Special) - Richard L. Knapp, 67, Saginaw, Mich., formerly of Aurora, died Sunday, Jan. 11, 1998, at St. Mary's Medical Center following a lengthy illness.
He was born Aug. 5, 1930, in Independence, the son of Leslie and Lucy Knapp. He served with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. On June 17, 1961, he married Marilyn T. Cahill. Mr. Knapp was the former president and owner of Michigan Truck Equipment, Inc., until his retirement in January 1996. He was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Council 532 in Davenport.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn; two daughters, Anne Knapp of Boston, Mass. and Maureen Knapp of San Antonio, Texas; four sons, Michael of Chicago, Ill., Mark (Dawn) of Flint, Mich., Matthew (Nancy) of Freeland, Mich., and Martin of Saginaw; three grandchildren; two brothers; Leslie (Lois) of San Antonio, and Norbert (Eileen) of Aurora; one sister, Joanne (Robert) McMasters of Woodstock,Ill; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Burial was Wednesday, Jan. 14, at St. Andrew Mausoleum, Saginaw.
