INDEPENDENCE - Funeral services for Judith R. Ashe were held Friday, Aug. 8, at the Reiff Funeral Home in Independence, with the Rev. Aloysius J. Vorwald officiating. Burial will be in Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Belle Chasse, La., at a later date.
Mrs. Ashe, 58, died Monday, Aug. 4, 1997, at Peoples Memorial Hospital, Independence, following a short illness.
She was born May 21, 1939, in New Orleans, La, the daughter of Lawrence and Sonja (Bergerson) Robicheaux. On her birthday in 1957, she married Merton Henry Ashe in Albany, N.Y. The couple lived in Belle Chasse, La. Mr. Ashe died in 1980, and Mrs. Ashe moved to Independence in 1989.
Survivors include three children, David (Heide) of Rockford, Ill., Debra (John) Mack of Belle Chasse, and Arlene Ashe of Hammond, La.
