Marcia R. Fletcher (1919-2007)
INDEPENDENCE — Marcia R. Fletcher, 87, of Independence, died Thursday, Feb. 8, at Allen Memorial Hospital, Waterloo, following a short illness.
She was born April 27, 1919, in Fort Worth, Texas, daughter of Lawrence Edward and Stella Annis Sellars Pittman. She married Lyle William Fletcher on April 7, 1946, in San Francisco. He preceded her in death in 2002.
She graduated from the Gainesville, Texas, high school and then attended junior college, also in Gainesville.
Survived by: a son, Greg (Martha) of Independence; and a daughter, Jane Fletcher of Waterloo.
Preceded in death by: a daughter in infancy, Susan Fletcher; a brother; and three sisters.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church, with burial in Mount Hope Cemetery, both in Independence. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at White Funeral Home, Independence, where there will be a 5 p.m. P.E.O. service.
