INDEPENDENCE - Funeral services for Jean Ann Robinson were held Tuesday, Aug. 26, at the White Funeral Home, Independence, with the Rev. John L. Sheda and the Rev. Danny Smith officiating. Burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Independence.
Mrs. Robinson, 54, died at her home Saturday, Aug. 23, 1997, following a lengthy illness.
She was born Oct. 26, 1942, in Independence, the daughter of William E. Kane and Virginia Mae (Scott) Kane. On July 29, 1961, she married Dale Lawrence Robinson in Preston. She was a member of the Church of the Living Water of Independence and had worked as a nurse's aide before her illness.
Survivors include her husband, Dale, three daughters, Kayla (Roger) Hall and Krista (Tony) Birchard, both of Independence, and Karen Utterback of Jesup; three sons, Kevin (Sandy) of Aurora, James (Shirley) of Hazleton,and Marty of Blytheville, Ark. her mother, Virginia Vargason of Independence; her father, William E. Kane of Littleton; a half-brother, William Kane II of Evansdale;
three half-sisters, Diane Nathem of Evansdale, Kathy Durnan of Elkader, and Teri Kane of Oelwein; 20 grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by a stepfather, Harold James Vargason; a stepmother, Vernieta Kane; and a grandson.
