INDEPENDENCE - Funeral services for Clarence D. Albert will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20, at the Church of Christ, Brandon, with the Rev. Alvin Nicholson, officiating. Burial will be in Brandon Cemetery. Friends may call after 1 p.m. Tuesday at the White Funeral Home,Independence.
Mr. Albert, 79, died Sunday, Aug. 17, 1997, in West Village Care Center, Independence.
He was born Feb. 24, 1918, in Brandon, the son of Walter Ray and Viola Dell McCall Albert. He attended local schools. On April 28, 1947, he married Mabel Darlene Fish in Oak Grove Church, Shellsburg. The couple farmed in Buchanan County until retiring and moving to Independence. He was a member of the Church of Christ and the Friendly Neighbor Club.
Survivors include two sons, Jerry (Pamela) of LaPorte City, and Steve (Joyce) of Cedar Rapids; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mabel, in 1996; one daughter, Jayleen Huddleston; a great-granddaughter, Jessica Huddleston; four brothers; and one sister.
