Miss Pearl Jackson and Dean Stone surprised their many friends Saturday when they learned that they were married at the Presbyterian manse, Independence, at 5:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon by Rev. Hammond. Miss Lois Jackson attended the bridal couple.
The bride wore a gown of black Spanish lace over black satin with shoes and hat to match. They left that evening for Waterloo, returning home Monday evening.
The bride is the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.D. Jackson, and for several years has been employed by the telephone company as operator here and in nearby towns. She was born and grew to womanhood in this vicinity, where here pleasing qualities have won her many friends.
The groom is the eldest son of A.O. Stone, of Lamont, and the past year has been working in the interest of Farm Bureau. For the present Mrs. Stone will remain in the telephone office. The couple expect later to locate to Florida.
This paper unites with many friends in wishing them a long and happy married life. (Nov.4,1922)
