WAVERLY - Orlyn W. Schutte, 77, of Waverly, died Sunday, June 19, at Denver Sunset Home, Denver.

He was born April 8, 1934, in Klinger, son of Rueben and Esther Wittenburg Schutte. He married Shirley Louise Iverson on Sept. 24, 1955.

Mr. Schutte graduated from Waverly High School in 1952 and served in the U.S. Army. He worked at John Deere, Waterloo, from 1955 to 1990, when he retired.

Survived by: his wife; two sons, Steve of Waverly and Scott (Jenny) of Bloomington, Ill.; five grandchildren; a brother, Elton (Shirley) of Readlyn; and a brother-in-law, Darrel Cox of Fairbank.

Preceded in death by: a sister, Carolyn Cox.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, with burial in Harlington Cemetery, both in Waverly. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, Waverly.

Memorials: may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice in Waverly or the church.
