WAVERLY - Leola Ingersoll Harms, 93, of Waverly, died Monday, Jan. 24, at Hiawatha Care Center, Hiawatha, of natural causes.

She was born Jan. 20, 1918, in northwest Waverly, daughter of Truman "Lee" and Isabelle Pearl Ormston Ingersoll. She married Paul Herman Harms on Sept. 2, 1946, at First Lutheran Church, Waterloo. He died July 29, 2007.

Mrs. Harms graduated from Waverly High School in 1937, then worked at the RyLon Cafe, Waverly. She later worked at the Uptown Cafe, Waverly, before going to work at Rath Packing Co., Waterloo. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Waverly.

Survived by: a daughter, Judy (Frank) Spinler of Cedar Rapids; two sons, David (Cindy) of Iowa City and Edward (Stephanie) of Swanzey, N.H.; four grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

Preceded in death by: a brother, Ivan W. Ingersoll.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, with burial in Harlington Cemetery, both in Waverly. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, Waverly, with a 7 p.m. Order of Eastern Star service.

Memorials: may be directed to the Waverly VFW Auxiliary, AMVETS Auxiliary, St. Paul's Lutheran Church (Luther Circle) or the Hiawatha Care Center.
