FREDERICKSBURG - Harvey Emil Hennings, 84, of Fredericksburg, died Friday, Dec. 3, at his home.

He was born June 15, 1926, in Bremer, son of Henry C. and Emilia Hagenow Hennings. He married Laurena Everding May 20, 1948, at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church. She died March 3, 2003.

He attended rural country schools. Mr. Hennings was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Germany during World War II. He worked at Meinerz Creamery in Fredericksburg from 1960, retiring in 1988.

Survived by: two sons, Robert (Glenda) of Sumner and Jim of Fredericksburg; three daughters, Sharon (Dennis) Miller of Tripoli, Phyllis Hurd and Kandi (John) Attleson, all of Fredericksburg; 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a brother, Henry of Tripoli; and a sister, Nora Rathe of Chesterfield, Mo.

Preceded in death by: two sons, Roger and Dennis; a grandson; three brothers, Elmer, Art and Ed; and five sisters, Esther Pries, Mildred Schwerin, Helen Wente, and Elda and Erna Hennings in infancy.

Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Fredericksburg, with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery. Full military honors conducted by the Fredericksburg AMVETS Post 90. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Hugeback and Chenoweth Funeral Home in Fredericksburg. Visitation will continue for an hour before services Tuesday at the church.
