SUMNER — Arlis Edna Wilharm, 78, of Sumner, died at home Saturday, Dec. 4.

She was born Aug. 10, 1932, in Bremer County, daughter of Henry and Hulda Westendorf Judisch. She married Norvin Wilharm on June 10, 1951, at St. John Lutheran Church, Buck Creek. He died in 2007.

Mrs. Wilharm and her husband farmed for 40 years prior to moving to Sumner. She worked for a number of years at the Hillcrest Home, Sumner, and was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Buck Creek.

Survived by: two sons, Larry (Rich Nissen) of Nokomis, Fla., and Kevin (Susan) of Covington, Tenn.; two daughters, Julie (Todd) Thein of Hawkeye and Kristie (Richard Blakley) Wilharm of Bend, Ore.; eight grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Bernita Oltrogge of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by: two sisters, Elverna and Mildred; an infant brother, Walter Judisch; and two brothers-in-law, Edwin Buhr and Arlin Oltrogge.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. John Lutheran Church, Buck Creek, rural Sumner, with burial in the church cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Becker-Milnes Funeral Home, Sumner, and for an hour before services Tuesday at the church.
