WAVERLY -- Elda Edna Thieman, 85, of Waverly, died Monday, Dec. 2, at the Shell Rock Healthcare Center, Shell Rock.

She was born April 14, 1928, in Bremer County-Artesian, daughter of Louie and Adella Strottmann Thieman.

After moving to Waverly in 1947, Ms. Thieman worked a short time at the Waverly Hospital. She then worked for the Bremer Packing Co., and then the Marshall Canning Factory for one fall. Since the early 1980s she has been a caregiver for several Waverly ladies. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Waverly.

Survived by: a nephew, Henry (Gladen) Harnisch of Waverly; and a niece, Mary (Merl) Martin of Cedar Falls.

Preceded in death by: her parents; and a sister, Elsie Harnisch.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. John Lutheran Church, preceded by an hour of visitation, with burial in Harlington Cemetery, both in Waverly. Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, Waverly, is in charge of arrangements.
