WATERLOO - Leonard L. Buhrow, 92, of Waterloo, died Friday, Nov. 26, at his home.

He was born Dec. 4, 1917, in Frederika, son of Leonard Louis and Mary Guhlow Buhrow. He married Ruth E. Sparks April 4, 1942, in Waterloo. She died Aug. 2, 2003.

Mr. Buhrow served in the U.S. Army during World War II and received the Bronze Star. He was employed at John Deere following the war, was in vending machine sales and service with Coca Cola in Waterloo and Los Angeles, then Vendo in California, Alabama, North Carolina, and retired in 1986 with Mars Electronics in California.

Survived by: a son, Michael L. (Rozie) Buhrow of Cedar Falls; a daughter, Marilyn M. (John) Jasper of Waterloo; seven grandchildren, Sarah (Kyle) Freeseman, Kristine Buhrow, Richard (Brooke) Carter, Leah (Shawn) Topliff, Jon (Lisa) Jasper, Marc (Vicki) Jasper, and Scott Jasper; eight great-grandchildren, Evelynn Buhrow, Jessica and Jaci Carter, Owen and Ethan Topliff, Alex Jasper, and Kolin and Makayla Jasper; and a brother, Paul Buhrow of Jesup.

Preceded in death by: two brothers, Alfred and Louis; and three sisters, Oreta Ferson, Bertha Hinson, and Leona Lofton.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at Orchard Hill Reformed Church, with burial in Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery. Public visitation from 2 to 6 p.m. today at Richardson Funeral Home, Cedar Falls, and for an hour before services Monday at the church. Full military honors will be provided by Cedar Falls Amvets Post 49.
