NASHUA - Mildred Lucille Caswell, 93, of Nashua, died Wednesday, Oct. 6, at her granddaughter's home in Waverly.

She was born April 21, 1917, on the family farm in rural Bremer County, daughter of George and Edith Masten Dietz. She married Harland Caswell on Aug. 12, 1939, at Methodist Church in Waverly. He died in 1977.

She attended rural country school. She worked for the Nashua school lunch program and at Sara Lee in New Hampton.

Survived by: three sons, Timothy James (Sharon) of Cedar Falls and Mark George (Nancy) and Thomas Todd, both of Nashua; two daughters, Eleanor Ann (Marvin) Scharnhorst of Waverly and Patricia Kaye Thompson of Charles City; a sister, Edith Vohsmann of Nashua; a sister-in-law, Eleanor Edson of Nashua; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: a son, Harland "Mike" Caswell Jr.; four brothers, Alvin Dietz, George Dietz Jr., Charles Dietz and Clarence Dietz; and four sisters, Emma Dietz, Effie Conklin, Bessie Runyan and Martha Wagner.

Services: 11 a.m. Friday at Hugeback and Chenoweth Funeral Home, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery, both in Nashua. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home, and for an hour before services Friday at the funeral home.
