WAVERLY - William Myron Burrow, 91, of Waverly, died at home Tuesday, Oct. 19, following a lengthy illness.

He was born April 12, 1919, on a farm northeast of Sumner, son of Leo and Mabel Ferrin Burrow. He married Gertrude Hazel Alcock on April 30, 1944, at the Methodist Church, Frederika.

Mr. Burrow graduated from Sumner High School in 1937, then farmed with his family in the Sumner area. He worked winters at Rath Packing Co., Waterloo, from 1942-1944. He farmed in the Frederika area for 45 years and also was employed for approximately 10 years at Farmers Butter and Dairy Cooperative, Fredericksburg. He was a member of United Methodist Church and also served as Sunday school superintendent. Most recently he was a member of Vineyard Community Church, Waverly. He was past president of the Tripoli School Board for five years.

Survived by: four sons, Clinton (Laura) of Jacksonville, Fla., Jim (Betty) of Cary, N.C., Jerry (Adarienne) of rural Waverly and Ken (Beth) of Waverly; three daughters, Vicky (Gaylord) Converse of rural Sumner, Nancy (Paul) Magnall of Waverly and MaryJo (David) Carlson of Burnsville, Minn.; 23 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Maxine Hemingson of Sioux City.

Preceded in death by: a granddaughter, Kalyn Converse; a brother, George; and a sister, Virginia Bock.

Services: 2 p.m. Sunday at Vineyard Community Church, Waverly. Public visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the church, with family present. He donated his body for medical research at Mayo School of Medicine, Rochester, Minn. Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, Waverly, assisted the family.

Memorials: may be directed to the Cedar Valley Hospice or the Hands and Feet Children's Village in Haiti. Flowers may be delivered to Nancy Magnall's residence, 2004 11th St. SE, Waverly.
