SUMNER --Donald Eugene Flanscha, 81, of Sumner, died Friday, Oct. 18, at Community Memorial Hospital, Sumner.

He was born Nov. 11, 1931, in Sumner, son of William and Vollie Schrader Flansch. On Sept. 15, 1982, he married Lynn Heckman at the Little Brown Church, Nashua; she died March 25, 2010.

Mr. Flanscha was a lifelong farmer.

Survived by: two stepsons, Tim (Janet) Heckman of St. Louis, Mo., and Tom (Beth) Heckman of Apple Valley, Minn.; four stepgrandchildren; a brother, Harold (Jana) of Denver; and a sister, Carol Flanscha of Sumner.

Preceded in death by: his parents.

Services: 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. John Lutheran Church, with burial in Union Mound Cemetery, both in Sumner. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Becker-Milnes Funeral Home, Sumner, and for an hour before services Tuesday at the church.
