TRIPOLI — Stanley Friederich Wilhelm Frank Buhrow, 90, of Tripoli, died Tuesday, Feb. 9, at Allen Hospital, Waterloo, from natural causes.

He was born March 4, 1919, on a farm in Douglas Township, Bremer County, son of Henry F. and Ida Bergmann Buhrow. He married Gertrude Schweer on May 26, 1940, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Crane Creek.

Mr. Buhrow attended country school in Douglas Township and farmed near Tripoli. He also tiled for many years and worked at Clay Equipment for 14 years, retiring from farming in 1986. He was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Siegel, and later Faith United Church of Christ, Tripoli.

Survived by: his wife; a daughter, Darlyce Steere of Greene; a son, Kenneth J. (Darlys) of Tripoli; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a brother, George of Frederika; and a sister, Arlene Buchholz of Tripoli.

Preceded in death by: a son-in-law, Earl Steere.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Faith United Church of Christ, Tripoli, with burial in the church cemetery. Public visitation from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Friday at Rettig Funeral Home, Tripoli, and for an hour before services Saturday at the church.
