PLAINFIELD — Leone Hartzell, 94, of Shell Rock, formerly of Plainfield, died Monday, Feb. 15, at Shell Rock Health Care Center, Shell Rock.

She was born July 9, 1915, in Waverly, daughter of August and Bertha Slickring Homan. She married Willbur Hartzell in New Hampton in 1934. He died in 1979.

Mrs. Hartzell and her husband farmed near Horton, and she also did housekeeping for area residents.

Survived by: three sons, Paul (JoAnn) of Colorado Springs, Colo., Roger (Kathy) of Shell Rock and Robert (Viola) of Waverly; 13 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Bernice Hartzell of Waverly.

Preceded in death by: two daughters, JoAnn Tynan and Jeanette Hartzell.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church, Plainfield, with burial in Horton Cemetery, Horton. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Hugeback & Chenoweth Funeral Home, Nashua, and for an hour before services Friday at the church.
