TRIPOLI — Grant Allen Schellhorn, 9, of rural Tripoli, died at home Thursday, April 11.

He was born Feb. 22, 2004, in Waterloo, son of Scott and Beth Klein Schellhorn.

Grant was a third-grader at Tripoli Elementary School, and enjoyed Boy Scouts and red tractors.

Survived by: his parents; two brothers, Marshall and Ethan, and a sister, Nora, all at home; maternal grandparents, Jeff and Teresa Henricks of Reinbeck; paternal grandparents, Duane and Nina Schellhorn of Fredericksburg; maternal great-grandparents, Jerry and Darlene Clark, and Edgar Henricks, all of Reinbeck; and paternal great-grandmother, Josephine Rochford of Sumner.

Preceded in death by: maternal great-grandmothers, Marietta Henricks and Maretta Klein; and paternal great-grandparents, Jim Rochford and Rudy and Lorena Schellhorn.

Services: 10 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Sumner, with burial in Leroy Township Cemetery, rural Sumner. Visitation from 3 to 7 p.m. today, with a 3 p.m. rosary, and for an hour before services Saturday, all at the church. Rettig Funeral Home in Tripoli is assisting the family.

Memorial fund: is being established. The family asks that red (Grant’s favorite color) be worn if you can.
