Phyllis J. Leistikow, 66, of Tripoli, Iowa and formerly of Readlyn, Iowa, died on Monday, September 14, 2009 at Allen Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa.

Phyllis was born on June 28, 1943, in Bremer County, Iowa, the daughter of Edwin and Gladys (Biermann) Zander. She was baptized on July 18, 1943 and confirmed on April 14, 1957, both at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Waverly, Iowa.

She graduated from Tripoli High School in 1961.

She was united in marriage to James Leistikow on June 16, 1962 at St. Paul's Lutheran, Tripoli, Iowa. James died on January 13, 1972. She was united in marriage to Edwin Leistikow on November 14, 1975 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Readlyn. Edwin died on January 18, 1986.

Phyllis enjoyed playing cards, cooking, Bingo and visiting with family and friends.

She is survived by a daughter, Carmen (Jeff) Suhr of Readlyn, Iowa; three sons, Scott (Kristie) Leistikow of Tripoli, Iowa; Alan (Christine) Leistikow of Fairbank, Iowa; and Shaun (Ashley) Leistikow of Waterloo, Iowa; seven grandchildren, Amanda and Amber Suhr, Justin Ramthun, Gavin and Joshua Leistikow, and Conner and Chase Leistikow; two sisters, Delores Leistikow of Dubuque, Iowa; Mary (Ray) Bloem of Frederika, Iowa; and one brother, James (Judy) Zander of Charles City, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, James Leistikow and Edwin Leistikow.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 10:00 am at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Readlyn. Burial will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Readlyn. Memorials may be directed to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Readlyn.
