DENVER — Arlene Emma Wittenburg, 87, of Denver, died Sunday, April 14, at Israel Family Hospice House, Ames.

She was born April 24, 1925, in Denver, daughter of Louis and Emma Nolting Kurtt. She married Harold Wittenburg on April 15, 1945, at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, Denver. He died in 2009.

Mrs. Wittenburg graduated from Denver High School. She and her husband farmed southeast of Denver until 2004.

Survived by: a daughter, Joanne (Ken) Patterson of Stratford; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Viola Kurtt of Denver.

Preceded in death by: a brother, LaVern Kurtt.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, Denver, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, Denver.
