WAVERLY — Eugene Don “Dean” Miller, 70, of Waverly, died Thursday, May 2, of complications of congestive heart failure.

He was born Oct. 4, 1942, at St. Joseph Hospital, Waverly, son of Donald William and Virginia L. Bowles Miller. He married Jolene I. Delegardelle on Sept. 10, 1963, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Cedar Falls. She died May 16, 2008. He married Judy Mattke Buss March 30, 2010, in Las Vegas.

Mr. Miller graduated from Janesville High School in 1960. He worked at Kent Feed in Waterloo for more than five years along with farming and milking. Hecontinued milking in 1993, when he began his career at Crystal Plumbing and Heating for 15 years, retiring in 2008, and then worked part time for the Waverly-Shell Rock School System, driving a school bus. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Waverly.

Survived by: his wife; three daughters, Christine (George) Elley of Cottage Grove, Minn., Leah (Kiley) Winterberg of Allison and Angela (Eric) Larsen of Marion; a son, Nick (Jessica) of Fairbank; three stepchildren, Jeff (Jamie) Knavel of Waterloo, Michelle (Charlie) Johnson of Waverly and Melissa (Marc) Happel of Tripoli; 21 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a sister, Sharon (Bill) Paul of Janesville.

Preceded in death by: his parents.

Services: 11 a.m. Monday at St. Mary Catholic Church,Waverly, with burial of cremains at Greenwood Cemetery, Cedar Falls. Visitation today at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, Waverly, where the family will greet friends from 3 to 6 p.m.

Memorials: may be directed to American Heart Association or Cedar Valley Hospice.
