DENVER — Rosalene J. Kern, 77, of Denver, died Sunday, June 23, at Bartels Lutheran Retirement Community, Waverly.

She was born July 16, 1935, in Urbana, daughter of Ronald Joy and Pauline Bernita Rosekrans Van De Venter. She married Harold Kern on April 13, 1951, at Concordia Lutheran Church Parsonage, Waterloo.

She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Denver.

Survived by: her husband; four daughters, Teresa (Mark) Nelson of Washougal, Wash., Peggy (Bill) Blaylock of Cedar Rapids, Judy (Craig) Voshell of Janesville and Rosalinda (Terry) Wilson of Vinton; two sons, Ricky (Kerri) of Louisburg, N.C., and Jessy (Janet) of Denver; 26 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; three stepgrandchildren; and one stepgreat-grandchild.

Preceded in death by: her parents; two brothers, Robert and James; a daughter, Roxy Kidder; and two granddaughters.

Services: 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, Waverly. According to her wishes, there will be no public viewing; family will greet friends an hour before services Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorials: may be directed to Bartels Lutheran Retirement Community to support the bird atrium.
