SHELL ROCK — Ewald Ernest Mueller, 85, of Kirksville, Mo., formerly of Shell Rock, died Friday, June 28, at Kirksville Manor Care Center, of complications of cancer.

He was born Oct. 4, 1927, in Waverly, son of Albert and Martha Waddkin Mueller. He married Marcene Katie Pogge Sept. 18, 1949, in Renwick.

Mr. Mueller attended the Waverly schools and served in the U.S. Army from 1946-47. He was a farmer, worked at the livestock yards from 1962-68 and then worked for IPS as a meter reader until retiring in 1990. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Shell Rock.

Survived by: his wife; two daughters, Diane (Roger) Brown of Kirksville and Dee Ann Mueller of Spokane, Wash.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Dory (Harold) Wiltshire of Oak Lawn, Ill., Marilyn Osborn of Grant, Mich., and Joan Wubbena of Olympia, Wash.

Preceded in death by: his parents; and a brother, Jim.

Services: 2 p.m. Tuesday at Faith Lutheran Church, Shell Rock, with burial in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, Waverly, with military graveside rites conducted by the Waverly Area Veterans Honor Guard. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, Shell Rock, is assisting the family.
