SUMNER — Lois Darlene Bohle, 80, of Sumner, died Monday, July 15, at Allen Hospital, Waterloo, from complications of a stroke.

She was born Feb. 24, 1933, in Plainfield, daughter of Roy and Martha O’Connell Westervelt. After the death of her mother when Lois was 4, she was raised by her aunt and uncle, Ray and Annie Ede in Plainfield. She married Norman Bohle on May 17, 1959, at United Methodist Church, Plainfield.

Mrs. Bohle graduated from Plainfield High School in 1952. She worked for Allen Hospital, Waterloo, as a registered nurse for five years after earning her degree from Allen Memorial Hospital Lutheran School of Nursing in 1955. She and her husband farmed near Sumner, and she was a member of St. John Lutheran Church - Buck Creek.

Survived by: her husband; a son, Keith (Michelle Cleckner) of Sumner; three daughters, Nancy (Neil) Jaschen and Judy (Kevin) Niedert, both of Tripoli, and Janet (Eugene) Judisch of Sumner; seven grandchildren; a great-grandchild; a brother, Bud (Lois) Westervelt of Nashua; and a sister, Margaret Greimann of Altoona.

Preceded in death by: two sisters, LuEtta (Lawrence) Ohlendorf and Alice (Louie) Balvanz; and a brother-in-law, Lewis Greimann.

Services: 11 a.m. Friday at St. John Lutheran Buck Creek, rural Sumner. Visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. today at S.K. Rogers Funeral Home, Sumner.
