Elgin Echo, Thursday, 08 August 1912.

L. W. Fetketter, who at one time was a business man of our city, passed away at his home in Tripoli Wednesday afternoon, and the funeral was held from his late residence Saturday morning August 3rd at ten o'clock, and interment was made in the beautiful cemetery some twelve miles distant.

Mr. Fetketter was a young man of fine personality and excellent character. He made and held friends and was always loyal and true to his convictions.

While in our city he became acquainted with Miss Ethel Albright and their friendship ripened into love and on October 8th, 1908, they were united in marriage. The couple went to Tripoli where they made their home. After a few happy years the dark days came, Mr. Fetketter was taken ill with lung trouble and went in search of health. All that science and change of climate offered was tried and an improvement was noticeable. Then a leakage of the heart became apparent and this ailment was the immediate cause of his demise.

To the young widow, relatives and friends of the departed, Elgin friends extend sympathy and join in the great sorrow at his passing.

Those from here who attended the funeral were: Max Thoma, Leslie Mattoon, Leslie Lehman, Mrs. R. W. Muehlenthaler, Nelle Stoehr, Mae Harrington and Selma Weibel.
