Elgin Echo, Elgin, Iowa, Thursday, 01 August 1912.

E. A. Hurmence died Tuesday at his home in Sumner. Deceased had been in poor health for some time. Mr. Hurmence was sixty years of age and was best known over northeastern Iowa as the proprietor of the Hurmence Telephone system. The funeral was held from the home at Sumner today.
