Services Here Tuesday
Mrs. Diercks, 100; 173 Descendants

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church for Mrs. Marie Diercks, 100, of 1113 Randolph St., who died at 8:15 a.m. yesterday of complications of age at the Denver Sunset Home. She is survived by 173 direct descendents.

The Rev. Eugene Kramer pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church, and the Rev. W. D. Oetling, pastor emeritus, will officiate. Burial will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Church cemetery in Klinger.

Friends may call at Parrott and Wood Funeral Home after noon today until 9 p.m. tomorrow and from 9 a.m. Tuesday to service time. The casket will not be opened after the service.

She was born April 7, 1869 in Bremer County, the daughter of John and Engel Hesse Meier. She was married to Wilhelm Diercks in Klinger on Sept. 16, 1888. He preceded her in death in 1926. She was a life long resident of Bremer County and a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Herman Rathe of Readlyn, Mrs. Herman Matthias of 438 Reed St., Mrs. Paul Matthias of 2009 Washington St., Cedar Falls, Miss Agnes Diercks of 1113 Randolph St., and Mrs. William Klein of Hamilton, ND; two sons, Arthur of Denver and Theodore, also of Denver; 34 grandchildren, 113 great grandchildren, 19 great-great grandchildren, one brother, Carl Meier of Waverly and two sisters, Mrs. Emma Luther of Denver, and Miss Amanda Meier of 256 Alta Vista Ave.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons, four sisters and three brothers.
