John Joseph Rieger, 65, of Waverly, Iowa, died early Saturday morning, November 30, 2002 at his home of natural causes.

John was born on September 10, 1937 in Central City, Iowa, the son of John Wayne and Dorothy Mae (Downs) Rieger. He attended school in Central City.

He was united in marriage to Lois Fleshner and they had three sons. They were later divorced. He married Jennifer (Zander) Judisch on August 15, 1995 in Crystal River, Florida. He had worked at John Deere, owned and operated service stations in Independence and Waverly, Iowa . From 1968 to 1980 he owned and operated Rieger Mobile Homes in Waverly. In 1980, he semi-retired and moved to Crystal River, Florida, while in Crystal River he owned and operated rental properties in the Waverly area. In 1991, John and Jennifer moved back to Waverly. He enjoyed boating, fishing, and antique cars.

He is survived by his wife, Jennifer of Waverly, Iowa, three sons, John Rieger of Cedar Falls, Iowa; Rick Rieger of Waverly, Iowa; Steve Rieger of Waterloo, Iowa; four step children and their spouses, Brett and Dawn Judisch of Waverly, Iowa; Tom and Kelli Judisch of Sumner, Iowa, Wendy and Paul Schulmeister of Sumner, Iowa; and Joshua Judisch of Waverly, Iowa; ten grandchildren and five step grandchildren, one sister Colleen Hughes of Selena , Kansas, his step mother in law Dora Gitch of Sumner, Iowa.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2002 at 10:30 am at Heritage United Methodist, Waverly, Iowa with Pastor Nathan N. Frazee officiating. Burial will be at 1:30 pm on Wednesday in Oakland Cemetery, Manchester, Iowa. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, Waverly and also for one hour before services at the church on Wednesday. Memorials may be directed to donor's church of choice.
