Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Rettig & Meier funeral home for Mrs. Bertha Heineman, who died Sunday afteroon at the county home. Rev. E.A. Hanff, pastor of the St John's Ev. Lutheran church, officiated. Mrs. Heinemann was buried on her 90th birthday, and death was due to her advanced age. Interment was made in the Grove Hill cemetery, beside the body of her husband.

Mrs. Bertha Heineman was born in Creet, Indiana, October 13, 1852, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Meyer. She was married to William Heineman in 1874. Coming to Iowa with her parents at the age of seven, the balance of her life was spent in this county.

Surviving are three sons, Will of Oran, Edward of Fairbank, Herman of Waterloo; two daughters, Mrs. Mable Rettig of Sumner and Mrs. Hulda Judas of Waterloo; five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Albert, 23, and her husband who passed away in 1914.
