William Anson Woodring, 78, passed away August 19, 1994 at the Waverly Municipal Hospital in Waverly, IA. Bill was born November 22, 1915, at Fredericka, IA., the son of Anson and Pearl (Thomas)Woodring.

Bill graduated from Waverly High School in 1933. He married Mary Corell February 18, 1939 in Waverly. To this union five children were born. Bill was a member of the Horton Baptist Church.

He has raised registered Belgian horses since 1947 and has shown them at many horse shows and fairs. He also judged horse shows for many years.

Bill is survived by his wife, Mary of Plainfield; three sons; John of Fredericksburg, IA., Robert of Galesburg, IL., James of Santa Rosa, CA.; two daughters, Andrea Williams of Panama City, FL., Barbara Poe of Cedar Falls, IA; six grandchildren, one great grandchild; two brothers; George of Hampton, and Richard of Waverly; three sisters, Dorothy Garner of Arizonia, Helen Richtsmeier and Georgia Schmitz of Waverly.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother Robert and a sister in infancy.
