Hello. I am looking for information on children and grandchildren to the subject Boone citizens.
Carl J (the oldest brother of my mother's father) was born as Karl Julius Pettersson in Avesta, Sweden on July 9, 1879. He married Kristina Johanna Norman, who was born on October 27, 1880 (probably in Avesta). They emigrated to USA in 1906. Yesterday I found, via internet, their names on an Iowa gravestones site (Linwood Park Cemetery in Boone). He had apparently died 1957 and she 1964. In the 1910 census they are recorded in Des Moines township District 5, sheet 12A with 3 children: Carl (born in Avesta Dec 21, 1901, originally named Karl Yngve), Enna (born around 1904), and Laura (born 1908). Carl J was working as a coal miner in 1910 according to those records.
A 14 years old sister of Carl, named Esther was also living with this family 1910. Esther later married Axel Lonnquist in Chicago, but had no children.
Carl and Esther had 4 siblings in Sweden. There is very little knowledge among the Swedish part of the family regarding what happened to the children of Carl J. and Kristina J. Peterson. Any information is welcome.
