Pauline Elsberry, age 81, of 515 Division Street, died January 11, 2008, at the Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Private family services were held Tuesday, January 15, 2008, at the Schroeder Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall where Rev. Phil Webb officiated. Burial was in the Mineral Ridge Cemetery in Ridgeport.
Pauline was born February 4, 1926, in Boone the daughter of William and Louise (Wolf) Elsberry. She graduated from Boone High School in 1943. On October 18, 1943, Pauline married Kenneth Elsberry in Boone. Pauline was a homemaker. In earlier years, she was a member of the Lincoln School PTA and was a den mother for Cub Scouts.
Pauline was a member of First United Methodist Church where she was very active in her Church Circle and Mitten Knitters. She also served as chairperson of the annual rummage sale and she served on the executive board of United Methodist Women. Pauline and her husband enjoyed traveling to Hawaii in January each year. Her biggest enjoyment was her family's get-together and holiday meal at Christmas.
Pauline is preceded in death by her parents, husband Kenneth in 1999, and a daughter, Carolyn Elsberry. She is survived by two sons, Kenneth Elsberry and wife Pat of Beaver and Steven Elsberry and wife Debby of Boone; a daughter, Paula Miller and husband Kenneth of Boone; four grandchildren: Jeff Elsberry, Matt Elsberry and wife Susan, Tina Snider and husband Brad, and Tracy Iles and husband Gary; eight great grandchildren: Reese, Ema, Ava, and Lauren Elsberry, Kendra and Payton Snider, and McKenna and Kael Iles. Pauline is also survived by a brother, Myron Elsberry and wife Yvonne of Boone and three sisters, Wilma Brown of Boone, Geraldine Price of Clear Lake, and Lenora "Jeanie" Hiddleson and husband David of Perry.
Memorials may be given to the family to be used at their discretion.
