Demise of A. Swigert
On last Monday Anderson Swigert, one of Boone county’s hardy pioneers died at his home in Dodge township. He was seventy-four years of age and had resided in this locality for nearly forty years. Ohio was his birthplace, where he was born September 22, 1823. He was twice married, his first wife dying about twenty years ago. Five children were born to this union, Rudy, who died some years ago, Medill who lives in Nebraska, Frank and Mrs. Cordelia Sturtz in Boone and George in Kansas. In 1880 he married Charlotte Bibler who survives him. Four children were born to them, Justin, Cass, Blacklee and Belle.
In early years he was a blackmith but of late years was engaged in farming. About three weeks ago he came to Boone to consult Judge Hindman in regard to the settlement of his estate. When returning home, he lost his way and was found the next day near Ontario in a semi-unconscious condition. He had acquired considerable farm land and was quite wealthy. He was buried Wednesday in the Mineral Ridge cemetery.
