Lars S. Kalvik

Funeral services for Lars S. Kalvik, 79, Story City, were held Feb. 19 from Bethel Lutheran Church, Story City, with the Rev. A.J. Bringle officiating. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery, Jewell.

Mr. Kalvik died Feb. 15 at his home.

Born Oct. 31, 1893 near Stavanger, Norway, he came to the U.S. in 1912. He married Carrie Westre, March 6, 1917, and they lived in Chicago for four years before moving to Iowa. They lived in the Ellsworth and Jewell communities until 1950, when they moved to Story City.

Survivors include his wife, Carrie; two brothers, Osmund Kalvik, Story City and Talius Kalvik, Norway and a sister, Mrs. Amborg Hallin, Norway.

Pallbearers were Eugene Westre, Stewart Eittrem, Brian Eittrem, Jerry Groves, Cecil Kalvik and Fredrick Kalvik.
