JERRY H. MEIER DIED SUDDENLY
WIDELY KNOWN BOUTON FARMER VICTIM OF HEART DISEASE
Jerry H. Meier, 43, widely known Bouton farmer and native of that vicinity, died suddenly at the home of his mother, Mrs. Jurgen Meier, Monday morning at 9 o'clock as the result of an acute attack of heart disease.
Mr. Meier had left his own home a short distance from his mother's only a few minutes before his death for a brief visit. He had entered the house a short time later complained of dizziness. He sat down in a chair and death occurred within a few moments from heart failure.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Lutheran Church in Bouton with the Rev. R.T. Mueller, pastor, officiating. Interment was made in the Peoples Cemetery. Brief private rites were held at the farm home at 1:30 prior to the church service.
Mr. Meier is survived by his wife, the former Miss Elsie Johannsen and two daughters, Geraldine and Darlene, both at home. One brother, Pete H. Meier survives as do two sisters, Mrs. P.H. Nissen and Mrs. Eggert Johannsen besides numerous more distant relatives. The mother, Mrs. Jurgen Meier remains the father having preceded in death a number of years ago.
He was born near Bouton in September 1895 and lived his entire life on the farm near that town. He was well known in Perry and leaves numerous friends to mourn his death. The body was taken to the Kelley-Cooper Funeral Home in Woodward and will lie in state at the farm residence north of Bouton.
