LUTHER - The Luther community was shocked to learn just this past week of the death of Mrs. Irvel Myers-Wolfe, daughter of Mrs. D. M. Myers of Bryn-Mawr, Pennsylvania, who passed away October 31st at a hospital in that city.

The funeral services were held at the Oliver Bair Chapel in that community with Rev. Tuerley, the pastor, in charge. Interment was made in the Church of the Good Samaritan cemetery at Paoli, Penn.

BORN IN LUTHER

Irvel, daughter of John A. and Dovea M. Myers, was born in Luther, Iowa, December 19, 1893, and passed away in Bryn Mawr hospital, Bryn-Mawr, Pennsylvania, October 31, 1938.

When six years of age she, with her parents, moved to Boone, where she attended the Bryant grade school. In 1907 she and her parents removed to Des Moines, where she finished her grade work and entered West high school. After completing her work there she entered Drake University. Aside from her college work she was a member of the English and Athens club, Pan-Hellenic Council, Epsilon Tau Sigma sorority and Margaret Fuller club.

After finishing her work at Drake she taught high school in Jacksonville, Florida, and one year in San Diego, California. She then went to Stanford University, California, and received her master's degree in that place, there she taught in the high school at Palo Alto and one year in Castalaja school for girls.

June 30, 1927, she was united in marriage to Russell Wolfe, attorney in Philadelphia, Pa., a son of Dr. Samuel Wolfe, at one time a pioneer physician of that city. After their marriage they established a home in St. David's, Pa.

Aside from the Guild of the Epscopalian church of which she was a member and the Stanford club of Philadelphia, her time was devoted to her family and home.

She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, two daughters, Elinor, age 10, and Patricia, age 8; her mother, who resides at Luther, two brothers, Forrest whose home is in Chicago, and Bernard, at Ottumwa. Her father preceded her in death Dec. 11, 1933.

She had a cordial and pleasing personality which endeared her to all who knew her and she will be sadly missed in her home and by many relatives.
