Funeral services for Michael Joseph Robinson, age 24, of Moville, IA, formerly of Van Meter, will be held 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in State Center. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery in State Center. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M., Monday, at the church. A memorial fund to honor Michael has been established. Michael was born April 28, 1984, in Van Meter, Iowa, the son of Gregory D. Robinson and Renee E. (Drummer) Robinson. He was raised and educated in Van Meter, graduating from the Van Meter High School in 2002. Michael also attended Iowa State University and DMACC, earning a degree in turf management.
Michael loved being outdoors, and had a passion for hunting with his Dad, uncles and friends. He also enjoyed playing golf which he made into his career. He was currently the Golf Superintendent at the Meadows Country Club in Moville, IA. Mike was happiest at family gatherings and being with his friends. He was loved and respected by everyone who knew him and he made a difference in everyone's lives. He was a precious gift to all that knew him.
Mike will be missed by his mother Renee (Al) Irey of Boone, father Gregory (Cecelia) Robinson of Van Meter, sister, Nicole (Michael) Guzman of Grimes, cousin Randy (Emily) Robinson and their children, Caleb and Colby, whom he lived with for a while; and his aunts, uncles, and cousins, along with many friends.
Preceding him in death were his maternal grandparents, Ray and Rita Drummer, paternal grandparents, Dr, Ray and Lois Robinson, uncle Raphael Drummer, and his maternal and paternal great-grandparents. Boone News Republican
