Craig A. Lauritson, 58, of 1528 Marion Street in Boone passed away at the Boone County Hospital in Boone on Thursday afternoon, November 6, 2008. He was born on February 8, 1950 in Estherville, Iowa the son of Earl and Irene (Leininger) Lauritson. On January 1, 2000, he married Nancy Zensen Humberg at Winterset, Iowa. Craig was a Fisheries Technician employed by the Department of Natural Resources, from 1969 until his retirement in July of 2006. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time in the out of doors. Craig was especially proud of his collection of Indian artifacts. He loved to travel, camp, just sit on a beach, or spend time with his family, and cherished the time playing with the grandchildren. He was a member of the Archeological Society. His parents and a sister, Joan Lauritson Keigle, preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife Nancy of Boone, Iowa; 2 daughters LaRay Rickert of Clifton, Colorado and Lisa LuAnn Stewart of Olathe, Colorado; 4 grandchildren Clair, Patience, Shanna and Shane; 4 step-children Greg, Lisa, Brian and Sherry; 11 step-grandchildren Nicole, Tasha, Mary, Heather, Josh, Kristen, Ryder, RayLee, Rory, Lane, and Codie Jo; 2 nieces and 2 nephews. His body has been cremated. A memorial graveside service and interment of the cremains will be held on Wednesday morning, November 12th, at 10:00 a.m. at the Eastlawn Cemetery in Algona, Iowa with Father Clem Currans officiating. Friends may call at the Stark-Welin Chapel in Boone for a time of sharing on Tuesday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with the family present at that time to greet friends.
