Larry L. Kruckenberg, 58, of Beaver, Iowa, died surrounded by his family in Springfield, Missouri, on Monday, November 10, 2008, after he collapsed from an intercranial hemorrhage while vacationing.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 15, 2008, at Assumption Catholic Church, 1906 Sycamore St., Granger, Iowa 50109. Burial will be in the Beaver Cemetery, Beaver, Iowa. Visitation will be Friday, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., at Assumption Catholic Church. Carson ? Stapp Funeral Home in Ogden is in charge of arrangements.
Larry Lewis Kruckenberg was born the oldest child of Allan and Mary (Bottema) Kruckenberg on April 11, 1950, in Waterloo, Iowa, and raised on a farm in LaPorte City, Iowa.
Larry was united in marriage to Susan J. Moore on June 1, 1974, in Independence, Iowa. He served as a superintendent, principal, and teacher for 38 years at Quasqueton, East Buchanan, Ayshire, Havelock-Plover, Sherburn, Minnesota, Colfax-Mingo, East Greene, Pomeroy Palmer, and Assumption Catholic School in Granger.
Larry enjoyed teaching, antique tractors, computers, the Minnesota Vikings and Twins, spending time with his children and grandchildren, working on numerous projects and being Mr. Fix It for his friends and family and eating peanuts.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Susan Kruckenberg of Beaver, Iowa; two daughters, Michelle L. Stevens and Kari Elizabeth Kruckenberg both of Ogden, Iowa; one son, Matthew Allan Kruckenberg of Ogden, Iowa; three grandchildren, Jacob and Sierra Stevens, and Landon Kruckenberg; his mother, Mary Kruckenberg of LaPorte City, Iowa; two brothers, Bruce (Rhonda) Kruckenberg of Dubuque, Iowa, and Mike (Jeanne) Kruckenberg of Postville, Iowa; and one sister, Marsha (Jim) Aspinall of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews and over 100 former foster children. He was preceded in death by his father, Allan G. Kruckenberg; and his brother-in-law, Steven Moore.
