Leone Wallace Holton, 86, died Tuesday, December 23, 2008, at the Palo Alto County Hospital in Emmetsburg.
Services for Mrs. Holton will be held at a later date at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Madrid, Iowa.
Leone (White) Wallace Holton was born October 22, 1922, in Missoula, MT to David and Rosa White. She graduated from Madrid High School in 1941. On Oct. 4, 1942 Leone married Lawrence L. Wallace in Bethany, MO. to this union a son, Larry, was born.
After Lawrence's death in 1952 Leone returned to Madrid where she was employed at Boone State Bank and Trust for 29 years. After her retirement, Leone worked at Garfield School in the Foster Grandparent Program.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Larry "Skip" Wallace and his wife, Jan of Emmetsburg; two grandchildren; two step grandchildren; five great grandchildren; seven step great grandchildren; five brothers; and one sister.
She was preceded in death by her husband; daughter-in-law; two brothers; and two sisters.
Martin-Mattice Funeral Home in Emmetsburg is in charge of arrangements.
