Shirley Ann (Jetter) Moore, 72, of Stratford, IA passed away at the Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames, IA on Tuesday morning, January 15, 2008. She was born on July 10, 1935 in Lake View, IA, the daughter of William and Evelyn (Dumdei) Jetter.
On July 10, 1953, she was wed to Buford “Buck” Moore, and they happily shared their lives until his death 48 years later. Together they enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling, dancing, and spending time with friends and family as well as their beloved dogs. Shirley always had an open door for the many people she loved, and she will be greatly missed by all of them.
Her parents, husband, Buford in April of 2002, 2 infant daughters, Tammy Ann and Kelly Sue Moore, and 1 brother, William Jetter, preceded her in death.
Survivors include 2 sons, Rick (MaryBeth) Moore of Webster City, IA, Jonny (Becky) Moore of Mechanicsville, IA, 1 daughter, Tracy (Bill) Murray of Dayton, IA, 6 grandchildren, 2 sisters, Bonnie (Ed) Stone of Lake City, IA, Linda (Ralph) Freese of Wall Lake, IA, 1 brother, Bob (Kay) Jetter of Las Vegas, NV, numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Saturday morning, January 19th at 10:00 A.M. at the Stratford Baptist Church in Stratford, IA with Bill Moore officiating.
Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery north of Stratford, IA.
Friends may call at the Stratford Baptist Church on Friday evening from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and Saturday morning from 8:30 A.M. until the time of service.
The family will be present at the Stratford Baptist Church on Friday evening from 6:00 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. to greet friends.
