Dorothy Marie Loudon,age 86, of Boone, and a resident of the Evangelical Free Church Home of Boone passed away on Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at the Evangelical Free Church Home.
Her body has been cremated. Memorial services and burial of the cremated remains will be at a later date in the Bass Point Cemetery, North of Boone Iowa. There is no visitation scheduled. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Evangelical Free Church Home of Boone.
Dorothy was born on February 21, 1921 in Mount Ayr, Iowa, The daughter of Hugh Andrew and Lena Mae (Walters) Foster. She graduated from Mount Ayr Iowa in 1939. Dorothy married Lawrence Paisley Loudon on August 20, 1940 in Bedford, Iowa. The couple moved to Boone in 1964 coming from Diagonal Iowa. Dorothy was a homemaker. After her husband Lawrence passed away in 1971 she went to Denver Colorado to learn floral design. She then bame back to Boone in the early 1970's and started to work with Virginias flowers as a floral designer. She retired in 1983. Dorothy enjoyed sewing, needle work, quilting and making crafts and participating in craft shows with what she made. Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents: her husband,her grandson Christopher. She is survived by her sons Ross lee Loudon and wife Kate of Boone Iowa,her son Roland Dean Loudon and Wife Sheryl of Ogden, Iowa,Her daughter Lora Gay Dodge and husband David of Russelville Arkansas and son Robin Ray Loudon and wife Jill of Boone Iowa;14 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren: her brother: Charles Foster and wife Cleone of Clinton Missouri: Her brother, Jackson Foster and wife Theresa of Oskaloosa Iowa: numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
