Funeral services for Adele Marie (Boehm) Douglas, 103, formerly of Webster City, are Saturday, Oct. 7, 2006 at 11:30 a.m. at St.Paul Lutheran Church in Webster City. Visitation is set for 10:30 a.m. that day.
Adele Marie Boehm was born June 6, 1903 in State Center, the daughter of A. J. and Mary (Smith) Boehm. She was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith by her father, the Rev. A. J. Boehm. Her education consisted of parochial grammar school, Ogden High School, Drake University and the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music in Milwaukee, Wis.
She was married to Robert B. Douglas June 19, 1932 at Ogden by her father, Rev. A. J. Boehm.
For many years the couple lived at numerous locations until 1945 when her husband was transferred to Webster City by the Internal Revenue Service. Adele was a faithful member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Webster City. She taught Sunday school, was a substitute organist, directed the adult choir, served on the music committee and was a member of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League.
Survivors include two daughters, Jerita (the late William) Brokaw of Twin Lakes, and Roberta (Robert) Greer of Walnut Creek, Calif.; three grandsons; one granddaughter; two step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one granddaughter; three brothers; and a son-in-law.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church Music Fund, Lutherans for Life, or the Hamilton County Public Health and Hospice.
A private burial will be at Graceland Cemetery in Webster City.
Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.
