Sharon P. Whetstone, 67, died Sept. 10, 2003, in Vancouver, Wash., of cancer.

A memorial services was held Sept. 13 at Rose City Park United Methodist Church in Portland, Ore. Burial was Sept. 15, 2003, in Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Ore.

She was born Jan. 24, 1936, in Boone, the daughter of H.R. and Gladys (Crispin) Freel. She married Robert C. Whetstone Feb. 10, 1957, in Boone.

She graduated from Jordan High School in May of 1954 and graduated from Northwest Medical Technology in Minnesota in 1955.

She was a medical technologist and retired in 1995 from Kaiser Permanente in Portland, Ore.

Survivors include one son, Jon, of Scottsdale, Ariz.; one daughter, Julie Whetstone of Vancouver, Wash.; two sisters, Helen Ross of Boone and Marilyn Frampton of Boone; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1997; her twin sister, Shirley; and a niece.

Gateway Little Chapel of the Chimes was in charge of arrangements.
