Sherry Lee Birkinbine, age 43 of Des Moines, formerly of Boone, passed away on Monday, March 20, 2006 at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center of Des Moines.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, March 24, 2006 at the Church Of God Of Prophecy in Boone with Pastor Brent S. McMasters and Pastor Tim Shipley officiating.

Burial will be in the Bass Point Cemetery, northwest of Boone.

Visitation will be on Thursday, March 23, at the Schroeder ~ Walter Funeral Home, Fifth and Story Streets of Boone from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation will continue on Friday at the church from noon to the time of service 1:30 p.m.

Sherry was born on April 10, 1962 in Ottumwa, the daughter of Paul Matthew and Joan Pearl (Doran) Birkinbine. She attended school in Holstein. She had lived in Holstein for 10 years and also had lived in Springfield, Mo., and Boone. She has resided in Des Moines since 2002. Sherry was self-employed working in Retail Business.

Sherry was a member of the Church Of God Of Prophecy in Boone. While living in Des Moines she attended the Church Of God Of Prophecy of Des Moines. She enjoyed her computer, talking to people over the internet and going for rides in her car around parks. Her interest was in Politics and learning Spanish.

Sherry is survived by her son, Jeremy M. Birkinbine and his fiancé Tina Meldrem of Boone; her parents, Paul and Joan Birkinbine of Springfield, Mo.; her brother, Paul J. Birkinbine Jr. of Springfield, Mo.; her nephew, Dakota R. Birkinbine of Springfield, Mo.; her special friend, Femi Foloronseal of Lagos, Nigeria.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family to be used at their discretion.

Schroeder ~ Walter Funeral Home, Fifth and Story Streets of Boone is in charge of the arrangements.
